We understand that choosing your children's educational future raises questions. To help you find out all the details about our German International School in Barcelona, we have gathered here the most frequently asked questions we receive from families. We hope you find them useful!

German is the language of instruction at all educational stages of the German school ZSB, from kindergarten to secondary school. A complete immersion in German is promoted, complemented by the progressive teaching of Spanish, Catalan and English. At the end of the school stage, students reach a C1 level in German and at least a B2 in English, certified by the Goethe-Institut and Trinity College London, respectively.

In order to enter our German International School in Barcelona from 1st grade onwards, a basic knowledge of German and Spanish is required. If the student does not have these skills, he/she can acquire them through immersion courses recommended by the school. The German school ZSB offers personalized language support to facilitate integration.

The ZSB German International School in Barcelona implements the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, including the Primary Years Program (PYP) and the Middle Years Program (MYP). These foster critical thinking, inquiry and a global mindset in students.

The German school ZSB accepts students from the age of 2 in the KleinesZürich level. From the age of 3, children enter Kindergarten, where they begin their linguistic immersion in German.

 

The German International School in Barcelona ZSB maintains small groups to ensure personalized attention. On average, there are between 22 and 24 students per class, while in Early Childhood Education the groups are 10 to 12 students with two educators per level.
